@gretagiordano well i dont care what dermatologists say… i listen to my skin and when i eat junk food (especially chocolate XP) i tend to break out. everyone’s different so yeah.

dont wash too much, it forces the body’s reaction to produce oils, which then get infected and turn to spots…. try raw lemon juice, leave it on for 3 or 4 secs, then wash off with colds water … zits will disappear over a week or so…. be sure to do this to the zits morning and night,..oh and for goodness sake dont go taking chemicals , do drink lots of water and wash only with warm water and soap then rinse with cold water.
true that.

i love that she says half a decade because it sounds longer than 5 years

As far as I know, the only clinically established connection between diet and acne is that sugars can cause a chain of endocrinological events that result in increased oil production, which, in some people, certainly causes or exacerbates acne. Eating simple carbohydrates causes a spike in blood sugar, which in turn causes a spike in insulin. Insulin spikes upregulate androgren secretion.Higher levels of androgens cause skin to produce more sebum, which mixes with keratin to cause pore blockage.

stress and hormones duh
diet no.
i’m sorry but you people have to stop reading bs off the web. if you dont believe me then visit a good dermatologist. i dont know where you live but services in varying areas can differ greatly depending on the area.

healthy diet wont kill anyone. but over half of americans are overweight or obese anyway and likely they wont want to take advice from a lady like this on what they should and shouldnt eat. also there is no evidence on how diet affects skin

anqeiicdemise July 18, 2010 at 7:17 am

There are various factors behind acne; diet, stress levels, and hormones just to name a few. Besides, having a healthy diet isn’t going to kill anyone… and chances are it may, just may, improve your skin.

i get my information from my dermatologist. and she named the reasons that can cause acne. and diet happens to be one of them dumbass. not only are LA people poor, i guess they are stupid as well.

gretagiordano July 18, 2010 at 8:05 am

ummm where do you get your information from? because its clearly not correct. I’d rather trust successful doctors than someone named “cellyjelly” who watches videos on the ehow channel of youtube to learn shit, thank you

cellyjelly100 July 18, 2010 at 8:33 am

well then those dermatologists and doctors of urs need to get their facts straight.

gretagiordano July 18, 2010 at 9:10 am

well according to the many dermatologists and doctors i know here in LA, it doesnt

cellyjelly100 July 18, 2010 at 9:59 am

diet actually has alot to do with acne. eating alot of junk food can cause break outs aka acne. chocolate, chips, and sodas mainly cause acne.

gretagiordano July 18, 2010 at 10:52 am

diet has NOTHING to do w/ acne everyone

gretagiordano July 18, 2010 at 11:01 am
